Kim Gunther and Son

Meet Kim Gunther: Project Coordinator Connoisseur

At JGM, it’s not in our DNA to say “no.” We do whatever it takes to complete a challenge and deliver fast track steel fabrication and industrial construction solutions “when you need it yesterday.” Exceeding client’s expectations requires hard work, commitment and team members you can rely on.

One team member who plays an integral role at JGM by keeping projects on track (and “the guys in line”), is Project Coordinator, Kim Gunther! Kim has responsibilities in every department and some of her daily tasks include change orders, purchase orders, setting up new clients and jobs, client billing, and new employee onboarding as well as insurance and payroll. Kim is a jack of all trades and someone we can rely on to get the job done.

To learn more about Kim and her role at JGM, we put her in the spotlight and asked some tough (and fun) questions. Hear what she had to say!

What is your favorite part about working at JGM?

Kim: The family atmosphere. Our team enjoys coming to work to see each other. We laugh all the time which makes for a fun work environment. Most of the office personnel currently working at JGM have been a part of my family for the past eight years and I would not want it any other way. Their family is my family and mine is theirs.

Which of your fellow team members has inspired you the most or helped you grow in your role?

Kim: There are several colleagues who have helped me throughout the years, but I would have to say Dominic Bonura, field operations manager, has helped me grow in my role. A lot of the work I perform is for the field operations. After my first year at JGM he asked if I would be interested in helping him with the field and I have learned a ton. I do not think I would have excelled in my position like I do today if he had not offered that opportunity to me.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone pursuing a career in project coordination within the steel fabrication and industrial construction industry?

Kim: Do not be afraid to try something new. Here at JGM, we welcome you like you have been a part of our family for years. We are all willing to train and help you excel in order to pursue a promising future.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Kim: Outside of work I pretty much dedicate my life to my four-year-old son, Greyson. We love to go to the trampoline park, swim, garden and of course roast marshmallows. We hope to go camping this summer and cannot wait to start baseball in April!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Kim: This is a pretty funny question! I would say ham believe it or not.

What three words would your family/friends use to describe you?

Kim: They should say caring, great sense of humor and loving but, it could be debatable haha!
