At JGM, we are driven to be the fastest, safest, and most effective industrial construction and fabrication partner in North America. To achieve this goal, we know investing in our team and recruiting top talent through workforce development opportunities is critical.
That is one of the reasons why we proudly partner with Chester County Intermediate Unit, Delaware Skills Center, Harrisburg Area Community College, Octorara Area Career & Technical Education, Pennsylvania College of Technology, Philadelphia Technician Training Institute, and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to offer a robust apprenticeship program as well as opportunities for continuing your education and accelerating your career.
Get Paid to Learn
No experience? No problem! When you are accepted into JGM’s apprenticeship program, you’ll get paid to learn. For someone starting out in the trades, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on skills and knowledge from the industry’s top professionals. We partner with several local technical schools to recruit aspiring constructors, welders, and fabricators, but also to provide curriculum to our apprentices so they can gain industry knowledge and then apply those skills during hands-on trainings in our shop.
As an apprentice beginning with zero experience, JGM provides experiential learning opportunities so individuals can learn to weld and fabricate structural steel as well as assemble, connect, or attach different parts that are required to bring projects to life.
Apprenticeships Lead to Careers
Apprenticeships are a good way to get your foot in the door and prepare for a career in the trades. At JGM, after approximately three months in the program, apprentices are promoted to the full-time position of Welder 1. We have had several individuals complete our program and go on to have successful careers at JGM, which included advancements within the company!
If you’re interested in learning more about industrial construction, fabrication, or welding, consider an apprenticeship at JGM. We’ll work with our community partners to provide you with the resources and training to take your career to the next level.
Training Top Talent
For individuals with experience in the trades, an apprenticeship may not be the right fit. However, in addition to our apprenticeship program, we offer all employees on-the-job training opportunities. From OSHA 10 to plasma cutting and even forklift training, we ensure our team members have the resources to continue growing in their roles.
Safety Training
At JGM, we believe all employees play a vital role in ensuring the safety of everyone in and around our shop and job sites. By providing our team members with the extensive training needed to identify and resolve at-risk behaviors and potential hazards immediately, we can prevent accidents from occurring rather than simply react to them. Some of our safety trainings include:
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Certifications
- MSHA 46 and MSHA 48 Training
- Fire Watch Training
- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Training
- First Aid Training
- Fall Protection Training
- And More!
Skill-Based Training
In addition to safety trainings, all new employees begin their career at JGM with extensive classroom and hands-on learning experiences. We are committed to investing in our employees and fostering their personal development to help them achieve their career goals. No matter if your passion is welding, construction, management, or safety, we’ll provide you with the educational opportunities to accelerate your career. Some of our most popular skill-based trainings include:
- Forklift Training
- Overhead Crane Training
- Welding Courses
- Carbon Arc Gouging
- Plasma Cutting
- And More!
JGM is on the forefront of technology as long as it adds value and we have partnered with several online programs, such as SafetySkills and ISNetworld to enhance the capabilities of our workforce.
