The most important asset at JGM is our team. Ensuring we are recruiting the best candidates who bring skill and cultural alignment is critical to our success and theirs. As JGM looks to the future, we remain focused on continuing to grow our business and team, even during these challenging hiring times.
It is team members like Cassandra Romero, resourcing specialist, who help lead this task. Cassandra began her career at JGM in April 2021 with a focus on recruitment and onboarding ideal candidates, including setting up benefits. As part of her responsibilities, Cassandra ensures each team member also undergoes safety trainings. Her goal is to start each employee out on a path to success.
We turned the spotlight on Cassandra to share a little about herself and her role at JGM by asking her a few fun questions.
Which of your fellow team members has inspired you the most or helped you grow in your role?
Cassandra: Kim Gunther has been my go-to inspiration since day one. Her patience and dedication to JGM inspires and motivates me to push myself daily to carve my own path to success just as she has done.
What is your favorite part about working at JGM?
Cassandra: The people are my favorite part! Being able to come to the office and smile and laugh throughout the day with your co-workers provides a great work environment.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone pursuing a career in steel erection or industrial construction?
Cassandra: Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Prior to working with JGM, I worked for 10 years in the medical field. While I always had interest in HR, I had no experience. It was scary to make such a major career change, but I could not be happier. I am grateful every day for pushing myself and accepting the challenge.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Cassandra: Right now, I spend a lot of time training my new puppy. But I enjoy making DIY projects, cooking, and watching re-runs of The Office.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Cassandra: That would probably be tacos
What three words would your family/friends use to describe you?
Cassandra: Loyal, motivated, and intelligent.
