Banker Steel was providing all the structural steel for the rehab of the existing building at 701 7th Avenue. Throughout the building, several pieces required high-strength steel at the interior bracing. They turned to JGM to source the A572 Grade 65 steel in an efficient manner.

After finding the needed materials in Texas, JGM’s AWS Certified Welders worked around the clock to fabricate two 60,000-pound box columns. This process required continual heating operations, submerged arc welding and flux core welding to be completed properly. Once finished, JGM was responsible for the shipping of these box columns to New York City, along with three 15-foot wide plate girders. Working through the night, the JGM team ensured the safe delivery of all products to the job site.
