Q1 2024 Company Updates

Well, we had another mild winter. The famous Punxsutawney Phil from Western Pennsylvania came out and did not see his shadow, so spring appears right around the corner. These seasons are flying by!

2023 was a year of steady and safe growth for JGM. The JGM family has grown to over 210 teammates. As we enter 2024, JGM is fortunate to have a nice backlog with a strong pipeline of promising opportunities across the manufacturing, mining, pharmaceutical, semi-conductor, and aerospace industries.

We see continued growth in manufacturing as the world looks to simplify supply chains, lower lead times, leverage automation, and meet the new carbon emission goals. There are a lot of great opportunities out there. It is exciting to see the rebirth of MADE IN THE USA!

As JGM pursues our vision of becoming the safest, fastest, and most effective industrial construction and fabrication partner in North America, it is important that we continue to invest in our team, so they are prepared and ready to deliver on our promises.

Becoming the safest is a journey, there is no end goal. At the end of 2023, we surpassed 1.5 million man-hours without a Lost Time Incident. This is an incredible milestone and does not come easy, as this requires an entire team dedicated and focused on safety every second, every minute, every day. Our 2024 goal is to surpass the 2 million man-hour mark. We are laser focused to drive our Good Catch Incentive Program so everyone is engaged in driving safety. We also plan to send 8 of our teammates to training to become Board Certified Safety Trained Supervisors by year end. We feel every single person plays a role in safety. Everyone owns it!

As we work towards our vision of becoming the fastest, we need to have a continuous improvement mindset in everything we do. This year, JGM is focused on looking for ways to eliminate waste across the entire business and streamline the way we deliver projects as much as possible. The entire world continues to move faster and faster! I call this the “Amazon” effect.

The definition of “effective” means that we are successful in producing a desired or intended result.

I believe achieving a desired or intended result requires great leadership and dedicated teammates combined with consistent training and disciplined execution. This is why we are doubling down on our training efforts. We will do this through developing and implementing a formalized craft training program and a leadership development program. We are excited to watch the growth of our teammates in the coming years. We have already seen a huge return on these investments. This is truly my favorite part of the business, investing in people and watching them do incredible things.

Thanks again to all our teammates, clients, partners, subcontractors, and vendors for an amazing 2023. Let’s do it again in 2024!

Cheers!
