For the JFK New Terminal One project in Queens, NY, JGM fabricated and delivered approximately 8,000 tons of structural steel supporting one of the largest transportation infrastructure improvements in US history. The new terminal, which is 2.6 million square feet, contains over 33,000 tons of structural steel. JGM’s AISC certifications and qualification as a NYCDOB contractor provided reassurance to the project team that the work would be completed to the highest standard. The steel provided by JGM included built-up plate girders, heavy wide flange beams, horizontal and vertical bracing, and WT trusses. One of the primary areas of work, the Air-Train Corridor, had to be constructed ahead of the rest of the terminal due to the coordination with the pre-cast concrete elements tied to it. JGM coordinated closely with the project team to meet strict schedule and logistic requirements, managing large assemblies and phased deliveries. Shipments began in April 2023, supporting continuous site operations and the successful execution of this high-profile project.
