Our people truly make all the difference in the quality work we deliver. Today, we are putting the spotlight on Coleman Hauber, a Project Manager at JGM. Read what he shared:
What is your role at JGM, and what does your day typically look like?
I am a Project Manager at JGM, responsible for managing both fabrication and construction projects. While it may sound cliché, there really is no such thing as a typical day in this role. Each day starts with a check-in with our fabrication teams at Coatesville and Sinking Spring, followed by coordination and planning meetings with internal teams and our customers. Throughout the day, I work to keep projects aligned on schedule, scope, and expectations, addressing issues as they arise and helping ensure work progresses efficiently.
How long have you been at JGM, and what interested you in being part of the team?
I started at JGM in July 2025. What interested me most was joining a company that is continuing to grow, learn, and improve. The culture at JGM emphasizes continuous improvement, which I find both exciting and fulfilling, and it’s something that I value in both my professional and personal development.
How do you keep complex projects on schedule while coordinating multiple teams?
The keys to keeping projects on schedule are organization and communication. It is critical to maintain detailed schedules and project trackers, along with thorough notes, to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Daily check-ins with internal teams help identify potential issues and pinch points early so they can be addressed before impacting the schedule. Equally important is open and consistent communication with customers and other external stakeholders to keep everyone aligned on expectations, priorities, and overall project timing.
What advice would you give someone new to project management?
Dive in and ask questions. Project management can be intimidating at first, especially when learning about a new industry or a new type of project, but there is no faster way to learn and grow than to immerse yourself in the work. At the same time, don’t be afraid to ask questions and relying on the experience of others—learning from the team around you is one of the most valuable tools you have.
What is something people do not know about you?
I love hiking and traveling to National Parks. My wife and I are working toward visiting all 65 National Parks, and so far, we’ve been to seven – including both parks in Hawaii. My favorite hike to date is Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park. The final stretch is a narrow ridgeline with steep drop-offs on both sides, and you use chains bolted into the rock for support. It’s physically demanding and tests your nerves, but the views from the top are unreal and make it completely worth it.
