JGM was contracted by Covanta to fabricate and erect the structural steel for a new PDC platform inside an existing facility. In addition, JGM was also responsible to offload, rig and set the new PDC and Transformer. JGM’s transportation group was also happy to support the project with the temporary storage of the equipment as the site was not quite ready.
JGM coordinated all the new equipment with the structural steel to guarantee a smooth fit. The PDC modular building weighed 40,000 lbs. and the transformer weighed just over 18,000 lbs. The final resting spot was no easy feat as we had to install everything through an existing wall to the new platform. JGM used over a tractor trailer load of cribbing with our 12,000 lb. rated machinery skates to get these pieces to their final resting spot.
