At the end of 2022, JGM welcomed Joshua Shaver as Project Engineer. From supporting construction projects to streamlining our change request system, Joshua has become an instrumental part of the JGM family. To learn more about Joshua’s roles and responsibilities, what he enjoys most about working at JGM, and his hobbies outside of the workplace, we asked him a few questions. Keep reading to see what he had to say about his career at JGM.
What are your daily responsibilities and how long have you been with JGM?
Joshua: I have been with JGM since December of 2022. Currently, the main project I am working on is streamlining the change request system. Alongside that, I am providing support for a few of JGM’s construction projects.
What’s your favorite part about working at JGM?
Joshua: JGM has the desire to improve, is open to listening to its employees, and wants to implement change. I am grateful that I get to be a part of JGM’s team!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Joshua: Even though I am new, I feel valued as a member of the team and know that my opinions and ideas are taken into consideration.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone pursuing a career in your field?
Joshua: In my opinion, it’s important to always keep learning and growing. This means being open to new ideas and asking questions to gain more knowledge. Then, you can use what you’ve learned to improve your daily life.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Joshua: I dabble in a lot of different things. The main one is going on adventures with my family (wife, daughter, and dog). Besides that, I love technology and enjoy anything from building computers to programming (videogames included, of course). I also like working on cars and house projects.
What are you looking forward to with the warmer weather approaching?
Joshua: As the weather gets warmer, I am hoping to go on a local camping trip with my family!
