When Steel Dynamics needed several structural steel platforms fabricated and installed, JGM was the team they called. With only a three-day outage, our team’s rapid response service was put to the test as we quickly, efficiently, and safely fabricated and installed several work platforms around the funnels that guide scrap steel into ladles.
In addition to a tight schedule, numerous other projects were taking place at the mill during the three-day outage, which meant working conditions were also a challenge. The work area around the ladles was very crowded with cranes, lulls, and other support equipment all competing to occupy the same space, so to say it was crowded is an understatement. The JGM team successfully performed this job on time, within budget, and with no recordable incidents.
